  • Just drove a Tesla Model S

And that shit is for real. Base model "slow one", and damn. One of the most fun drives of a new car I've ever had. To describe the acceleration as "linear" is probably the most accurate way to put it. Roomy, comfortable and fun as hell.

I'm generally a front-engine, RWD internal combustion kind of guy but that Tesla is seriously cool and hauls ass. I'd take it as a daily driver in a heart beat.

Anybody else have any experience with them?

            Yup.

Not sure of the accuracy or where the info came from, but within the past week I read that Tesla had captured something like 10% of the luxury sports car market.

            EDIT:
The electric car maker will deliver more of its Model S than expected and is expected to hold a 9% market share in the luxury sedan segment, according to a Jefferies analyst. The analyst said Tesla's (TSLA)Model S is going against BMW's 5 and 7 Series, Mercedes' E/S class and Volkswagen's (VLKAY) Audi A6, A7 and A8. Tesla accounts for nearly all of the 10.4% gain in full-size luxury sedan segment

Yeah, I want one, but optioned with the big wheels and the performance sub-5-second-zero-to-60 package, they come out to like $1200 a month. I'm broke.

Ah, I was thinking Tesla = electric sports car, akin to the Lotus Elise and all the other little cars Blake likes.

I'd save about three hundred dollars a month from not having to buy gas, but even then the payment on that Tesla would be double my monthly payment and gas.
