so we just got back in our house after having it completely remodeled and now we are getting 2-3 big ass roaches a day, we never had roaches before and are really disgusted by the, what can we do to get rid of them and keep them from getting in our house. Keep in mind we have a new born and a 2 year old in the house, so anything we do has yo be kid friendly. ..thanks in advance

Did you do any work around the plumbing? That's where they tend to come through. Id hit the plumbing with some ortho home defense. And do the whole perimeter of the house. And bomb the house. And maybe leave out those little black poison things. Fuck roaches!!!!

Burn down house if all else fails and make it look like faulty electric work.

This. The only chance you have to get rid of roaches is by fire.

for every one you see, there are 10,000 more in the walls... just let that sink in for a minute.

they are not coming from outside.. they come out of the walls to die.

                  One word, BENGAL!

You can get it at Home Depot, it comes out like Freon and hardly has a smell, it will kill any kind of insect including roaches, water bugs, ear wigs, flies, geckos, mosquitos, spiders, scorpions, termites and mice too.
It's actually called Bengal Roach Spray, it comes with a small tube like WD40, it comes out like Freon and dissipates into hardly nothing, no oily residue or foul odor. Spray the perimeter of your house, be sure and hit the window sills and also do the windows and doors inside, under cabinets. You will not ever need to hire a pest control company. I've been doing this same routine two times a year for over 10 years and never see bugs of any kind.

I actually had the exact same problem you did, big ass water bugs, which to me are just big ass roaches. My friends form New Orleans turned me on to this stuff, apparently they have a huge bug problem in N.O.. The water bugs were eating the dog food and having an all you can eat buffet at my crib. I bought three cans and hit the outside of my house and the inside, now I just do one can, twice a year and no problems.
You are going to have to pick up dead bugs for a few day but after that, no more problems and its cheap too, like $14.00 for a big can, but trust me, you will have a 100 problems, but bugs and roaches won't be on that list...

I always have good luck with the Combat baits. Fuckers were all over my car lot thanks to a water leak under the house. Put the Combat out and haven't had an issue since.
