I have been doing interviews everyday this week - and it's painful. People are just not qualified and sometimes don't even behave right in an interview. It's not there are a lack of jobs - I have three reqs trying to fill - and it's amazing what people will put on their resume and have no actual knowledge or real life experience with the product or technology.

On the flip side, I have had a couple chats with employers looking to hire, had a list of prereqs, and were looking to pay peanuts.
I even had one guy get pissy when I declined to come in for a sit down interview after he told me that the position was litterally less than half of what I am making."If I asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses." - Henry Ford

What someone is willing to pay does not determine what my time is worth.
I've had people offer me positions 30-40K less than what I was making and then act like I was trying to win the lottery by telling them what my requirements were.
If we're not on the same page thats fine - that tells me right then an there that you don't see the value in my knowledge and experiance. Some jobs are a fit, others aren't. no need to get personal about it

This right here.
I've been on a few interviews lately. I know what I'm worth, and this is not a negotiation. No, I won't take X, and be up for a review/raise after 90 days. No, I'm not interested in less than half of my current salary. And I really only get that kind of shit, from the handful of jobs I've considered outside of my industry. I'd much rather get that nonsense out of the way up front, so neither of us waste our time. Unfortunately, that is frowned upon.Originally posted by BradMBut, just like condoms and women's rights, I don't believe in them.Originally posted by LeahIn other news: Brent's meat melts in your mouth.

I've been shocked and had a few lately be right up front on $ and even had me talk to the hiring mgr in a mild interview/review of the actual job vs the posted lingo without even applying. but then they were the ones hitting me up via linkedin.2013 F150 STX Supercab 5.0L w/3.55 LSD
