Like anything, there's good and bad parts of both cities. I spend a lot of my time bouncing between the two. If it weren't for most of my friends and family being in Dallas, I'd consider moving to Houston. The Woodlands(north Houston) is probably the nicest city I've ever spent time in. -
Yeah, that's not biased at all. I hate Houston. I hate everything about Houston. Woodlands and Kingwood are nice, but they are still an extension of Houston, and everything I hate about Houston. I don't think there is a high enough paying job for me to want to live there.
On the flip side, a coworker of mine moved from Houston to Dallas. He fucking hated it. He was back in Houston in under 9 months. Another coworker moved from Houston to Austin, and can't believe he stayed in Houston for so long. That's funny as it comes from a Houston magazine....
Anyway, Houston and Dallas are eerily similar in a lot of ways.
Other than the coast only being an hour away from Houston, I don't see a huge difference between the two...

I've lived in both, I prefer DFW over Houston Moreso Ft. Worth. Both have their pros and cons though.Comment

I have some extremely wealthy family in Houston, and if it wasn't for their business, they would have left a long time ago. I've only made the trip to see them a couple times, and that's too many. I have no desire to be anywhere in Houston.Comment
