Amber alert- iphone

You can turn the alerts off on the IPhone, but I found out every time you upgrade software it turns it back on again.

Just looked at mine and it was turned on, but I didn't get an alert. My technology never works right. I turned it off, so now I'm sure I'll be getting them every 10 minutes. When I bought this phone I should have showed it what I did to the phone it was replacing as a warning.

I got the alert on a GS3 which is not activated on any cell networks. How the fuck does that happen?

Same here, surprised the crap out of me. I was out the door and almost to my kid's room before I figured out it was coming from the "bedroom". By the time I got back in there, I had no idea WTF was going on and it had stopped.

Go into settings, notifications to turn it off. I'll leave the other one on. But WTF am I going to do at 11 o' clock at night about an amber alert?

I turned it off - but evidently doing so means I don't care about "the children" and i'm a bad person for it.

You send an Amber alert for something that is over 200 miles away, and I'm already in bed and asleep? I ain't doing anything with it.

Radio - I get it.
TV - I get it.
Traffic Billboards - I get it.

Broad spectrum state wide alerts on a cell network? Keep that shit to life and death emergency of the phone owner.
