The eulogy wasn't as good as some other ones but he ended it very well. Kidd's saying was keep looking up and Russ sounded like he was trying to hold it together when he ended with "when you touch the hearts of children, you touch the heart of God, so stop looking up Kidd... cause you made it. Goodbye Davy."

Yup, it wasn't his best. Some of the things he started off with were sincere jabs, tongue in cheek. But he ended it very well.

KIDD started in waco texas back in 1984-85, back when people still cruised and street raced and socialized on the streets on fri-sat nites, it didnt take long for him to dominate central texas air waves, he was cool and did cool stuff on the radio w all us locals, we are the same age, and grew up at the same time during one of the greatest decades known to man, only met him once, but felt like we been friends forever, its a sad day to loose a friend!!!!

I work across the canal from his studio. Here's a picture from 7:30 this morning when I got in. I expect the crows is larger now, but there were 5 news trucks parked on Las Colinas Blvd.

Not sure if it has been mentioned already, but apparently he was a chain smoker. He never talked about it on air and wouldn't allow himself to be photographed with a cigarette, so he wouldn't set a bad example for kids. Supposedly that led to his heart disease, and ultimately his death.

I don't say that to tarnish his reputation in any way. But, maybe if it were more out in the open, some kids would learn how bad the consequences are from smoking.
