I did read that the bullet did hit his femoral artery, but that other officers' actions slowed the blood flow enough to keep him alive. That type of wound creates a LOT of blood loss, and you can bleed out pretty damn quickly.

Well, the guy that shot Johnny Bell was still in "Critical Condition" for over a day when in fact he was dead on the scene.....

The police/hospital aren't eager to release that info in some cases.
