  • Skiing in February, where to go?

So for my 30th about 6-10 of us are looking at going skiing, any recommendations? Right now we are thinking about Durango, Copper Mountain, Breckenridge, Steamboat, Solitude, Park City, or Squaw Valley. My wife and I are the only ones that have skied more than once so it must be some place with decent green slopes.

Only request that has been made is a hot tub. Right now we are leaning towards Durango we found a place about a half mile from the slopes and the town is a little more laid back being a college town.

Dude, if you can, hit Bear Lake in Utah/Idaho, or even just stay in Logan (it's pretty cheap). There are a couple of tiny little ski resorts up in those hills that aren't much more than green slopes, but the surroundings blow NM/CO front ranges away, and hot-tubs abound. Also, there are lots of places to rent snowmobiles and even a spot to rent horses. Then, there's Hardware Ranch south of Logan. You can take a sleigh ride through a wintering Elk herd up there. The only real downside is that they hide the liquor stores like it's some kind of national sport up there.
ZOMBIE REAGAN FOR PRESIDENT 2016!!! heh

Fuck Utah, Colorado, etc. Whistler is the shit. The drive in from Vancouver blows away just about any scenery in the US.

Pretty much. And I've driven through a lot of the states.

Whistler is amazing though. I want to go back in a bad way.

One of my best wipeouts was there... on some moguls right under a lift a the top of Blackcomb. I'm pretty sure the yelling and applause from the people passing overhead actually helped it hurt less

I've only been skiing once, and it was at Crested Butte in Colorado. I'm sure Whistler's badass, but if you're looking to stay in the country, Colorado is awesme. Utah and NM are fine if you like cute, little mountains.

Over the years, we've ended up back at Lake Tahoe. Between Heavenly, Squaw Valley, Northstar, etc, there's something for everybody. Ski all day, gamble all night.
