    Anyone have one?

Saw one in the parking garage at work (sport) and was blown away.

The sport is pricey at the 40-50k range, but could be worth it if its a nice ride. Looking for some real world feedback.

They took a lot of cues from the Land Rovers. I like them as well.

I think they look pretty good, but I'll be damned if I pay 40 grand for an Explorer. I've had 3 of them(older models, obv) and they're pretty decent vehicles.

Resale sucks ding a ling, at least on the older models. I'd expect the same from these.

        Marty has one, Chris.

Good point, they drop in value like a BMW. In '09 I paid around 16k for my '06 V8 Eddie Baur that would've been a 40k truck off the lot new.

Our pd has them (3.5 awd) they handle very well and are very comfortable even with the stiffer suspension.

There is about to be a recall on a certain run that are having fuel pump issues along with several other models that use the same pump assemblies.

That's sticker price. Stang's price is better at GV Ford!

My wife is looking at the Edge but I would much rather see her driving an Explorer. Either way she is looking pretty hard for a new SUV and to get out of her 2002 Explorer.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

I have a 2013 Base model and absolutely love it. For 27K, you cannot beat the vehicle. It's got enough power to do a little bit of work and accelerate fast enough to not kill you on the highway (unlike the equinox). They are very comfortable, and just feel all around bigger than most of the current small SUVs. They also look WAY better than the ford minivan..errr edge. On the highway I get about 22mpg, and that's not babying it. On mixed driving I get 21.

As far as negatives go...here is my list:

1 - Front wheel drive, and not based on a truck platform. It's really more of a giant car.

2 - Torque steer is terrible. If you want to gun it out of a turn, get ready to do a bit of correction.

3 - The turning indicator is stiff as shit. At least mine is...and it's a 2 stage switch.

4 - The media system has minor problems, but this may be fixed with a software update.

5 - It came with carpet My ideal explorer would be basically a police edition without the autolocking rear doors

27k is more like it. Which engine? What does the base include these days?

For what it's worth the new Explorer are on the Ford Flex chassis.

I still have the window sticker in an 00 Mercury Mountaineer Monetray on my lot. Sucker cost $35K new, 13 years later I am selling it for 7% of the original cost.

lol, my parents bought one of those brand new when they retired in 2000. Living in Port Aransas with the salt air, everything on it completely fell apart and stopped working within about 4 years.
