Looks like a pretty nice score. I borrowed my dads 2000 and pulled down 20mpg loaded up on a road trip. If maintained it should go 200k miles and beyond.

I got 8mpg at 70mph without trailer when I borrowed one.
In the 100k miles we put on ours before selling it to my f-i-l we never got under 12. Most was 12-14 mpg with 16 being the highest.

With a 32 gallon tank I Hope so. Most likely not gonna daily it. Gonna be hard tho. Much nicer than my single cam turd civic. It does have what sounds like a really small leak on the exhaust manifold on the drivers side.

Want to level out the suspension also. Not sure if I want a true lift on it. But for sure bring the front up level with rear.

I can tell you that you can't go wrong with a '97 - '02 Toyota Tacoma or 4Runner. We've had several and they're just incredibly reliable and hold good value. For $6k you should be able to get into a '98 - '00 of either model. Mileage doesn't mean much w/ these trucks, just be sure they've had their timing belt replaced. Good luck.

since going back to school i am going to go back to using the kia as my daily and find a zj to have fun off road. looking for a 96-98 limited with a 5.2, or a 93 with manual trans if i can find one. they are pretty cheap and for what i want to do a stockish one with good tires will be enough

                    Who knows this?

1 : What's the diff in ride height in my LT 4x4 and the z71 and why? What parts make it diff?

2 : I want to level the front with the back and I came across a kit from readylift that replace the keys. Is this gonna put stress on the front suspension and axles?

                    • Just crank the bars yourself.

If you crank up the torsion bars it reduces the amount of suspension travel and makes for a harsher ride.

                          True...

But, some are set so swimmy and soft it might actually ride "better' than it does now.

You can also buy indexing keys that will have the same affect without bottoming out the bolts to achieve the desired height. You can buy aftermarket, swap ford keys in, lots of options for that. If you go the keys or cranked bars route it seems to help the ride alot to get a longer set of shocks than stock.

Doing either of these will place an increased load on everything up front... Balljoints, TREs, Hubs, Etc and lead to quicker wear.

If you keep the amount of height reasonable however the ride will be decent and the parts wear tolerable.

I've had about a dozen Torison Bar Chevys with: Torison Bars Cranked, Keys, and all the way to some stupid IFS bracket lifts for about 500,000 miles worth in the last decade. Lemme know if you have other questions.

                          • That's why I was looking at the ready lift kit. Aparently it stops from having to crank on them to maintain stock ride quality

Ready lift is keys and shock extenders I believe... Ride is really going to be determined by were the keys are adjusted to after they are installed.

Nothing big. Just want to get rid of that rake. I've never liked the scared kitty stance trucks are set at. As far as towing maybe a small utility trailer from time time to time. Rarely anything really heavy. I think it would have to come up what maybe two inches?
