I had a great uncle growing up that called everyone (mostly the kids) cotton-pickers, in a jovial way though. With a good chuckle and all "You little cotton-picker".. I had no idea it was a slur until I was an adult.

Then again, my mom's parents were from Arkansas, they and many in their family actually picked cotton back in the 20's and 30's.

Chili I have a similar arkansas childhood. Spent the summer with my grandparents there. My grandfather always had a guy around helping him out. He always called everyone of them jigabo. I thaught this was ok until I was older haha.
