Save your fucking money on lawn equipment. For what you'll spend, you can have your lawn mowed for well over a year. Possibly two if you factor in tune-ups/carb cleaning because of the shit gasoline we get these days. BTDT... I pay to have that shit done now.

I do too after my weed eater busted, then the mower decided to start screwing up on me mid season.

Pretty true. I realized that the thing I hated most about the last house I owned was working on the yard, only to have it still not look as good as I wanted it to after I was done and miserable for a couple hours when I could be doing other important things, like dicking around on the internet. It's an annoying bill to pay, but it has made home ownership so much more enjoyable for me.

I may be in the minority, but I enjoy working on my yard. It looks like shit right now since the previous owner didn't treat it, but I like the time outside.

I like time outside, too. Sitting on my covered porch, in a lounge chair, with a book and drink while my dog stalks squirrels....

Thankfully I can make way more money than my lawn guy in the time it takes four guys to do my lawn. It takes me more than 4 times longer. It's simple math.

I've got a nice commercial grade TORO I bought, ran half a season, had to get the carb cleaned/rebuilt, and now it just sits. It's a trophy of my awesomeness

I'm going to get a reel mower, not a gas one, and an electric trimmer. Total will be 200 bucks plus whatever electricity I use for the trimmer. That's pretty cheap compared to what they charge up here in Frisco. Anyway, I need the workout and the sun. Plus there's Dallisgrass all over the front lawn, and I've gotta kill that.

How much are you guys paying for lawn care? I have to mow mine....paying someone to mow an acre will be too rich for my blood.

well since everything is more expensive and you should be tipping twice as much as you used to, you should be paying about $50 for a normal size yard.

im just kidding. Between 25-35 seems the norm.

I pay $25 and he comes about twice month. Slightly more often during the heavy grow season. he also does my Christmas lights in the winter.

edit: I have just under a 1/4 acre.
