Picture related, it's my girlfriend in 2011 before she gained 150 pounds. (seriously though, I'm trying to find some 2002 GRACE photos and 2013 photos to compare to the 2011 one)

I was building a fence at that time. I've paid my dues as a grunt in my earlier days, so I was quite alarmed when I saw how deep the dry dirt went. 2 feet of powder where the norm was 8". When the red clay has turned to red chalk, we have problems.

However, it has been slowly getting more moist. I would like it to get better faster, but until we stop supplying all you fucks in Dallas with water, we will just have to wait.

It makes me curious as to whether or not this has anything to do with why they're letting so much water out of Lake O' the Pines. They say it is to keep the Caddo Basin in decent enough shape to keep all of the various ecosystems running properly. That place has been 1.5' above level for most of the fiscal year, while The Pines has been several feet low.

I didn't even think about them. I'll add them to the list of folks pilfering our water supply.

The saltiest wine in the middle of a desert is the wine I want to drink!

I would think so. S.A. has been struggling, but it seems the aquifer is doing better now as is H-town.

They need a tropic storm to hangout there for awhile.

Hopefully one will hit around September 2012, and cause record rainfall all over Texas. If so, they should name it Norman.
