Why are so many teenagers so little?

Depends on what kids you are around.. I know this sounds racist, I mean no ill will about it, but in heavily latino schools, the average height is much lower than the national average..

They look younger to me all the time. There was a 19 year old girl in one of my classes that I thought was 12, for sure. I was certain she had progeria or something after that. A lot seem bigger, but some are smaller. My cousin just turned 15 at he is sitting right at 5' tall. His parents are short, but still, mine are short and I still got way bigger than both of my parents.

I thought the guy I bought my car from was in his late 20's early 30's. Then he tells me he is 18 and this was he first job. Then I thought no wonder he didn't know anything about anything.

I have to explain to people that I am a lot older than I look when I tell them that I'm a mechanic. No one wants a 17 year old working on the car they are fixing to buy.

I don't shave, which is one of my problems. Couldn't grow a beard if I wanted to.

Im about 6ft and my full brother is about 6'2" . My 2 half brothers are 16 and 14. both are under 5'7" and are super skinny. They look 14 and 12. I think its the all organic diet lol

Most kids are larger, but I agree with what Craig says as well. Girls are developing earlier too. And it's due to the shit people eat.

My dad is 5'5 and my mom is 5'3. I'm doing pretty damned good just to be 5'8!

My brother's mother is 6'3 so that worked out for him; he's 6'2. And yes, you read that right, my dad had a kid with a woman 10 inches taller than him.

I think kids are quite a bit bigger than when I was a teenager. At the time there were only a handful of 200+ lb kids in my high school, but a kid that size seems fairly common today.

I'm not saying that all Mexicans are shorter, but based on averages, I am willing to bet the mean height is a couple inches shorter than anglo or black. But is somewhat regional too.

Mayan descendents are a lot shorter than the Spanish and Portuguese that settled the area.
