  • More proof the youth of America are fubar...

Lady and her 7y/o daughter just came into my store. Little girl asks mommy if she can have a candybar, mom says "no, we're using all our cash on gas". To which the girl responds...

"but you can use the lone star card!"......

Glad we don't take lone star....

What's wrong with using food stamps to buy your kid a candy bar?

The little girl was damn near excited about it...the look on her face was that of "oh, yeah, we have this free food card!! Get me some candy!!"

She acted like it was a normal thing to have, and she couldn't wait to grow up and get one of her own...

It just irked me that a 7 y/o was excited about her parents having a lone star card....not sure why.

I don't want my tax money buying that crap.

Have you ever seen the crap people buy with that card. No wonder they are lazy fat bastards

I wouldn't expect a 7 year old to fully grasp why they have that card. I didn't when my family did and I was about that age.

It irked you because, at 7, the kid gets the "free stuff" concept. Wait 'til she's voting age. Add to the fact that the parent p'rolly has the same entitlement mindset.... yeah, the next generation is fucked. I'll be dust by then, but I feel for my kids.

I saw this daily when I worked at a convenience store in high school. Pissed me off as much then as it does now.

You guys do realize that some people actually DO need government assistance right? Get off your high horses, it was just a little kid...and for all you know they could have got the card in the mail that day and started counting their blessings. Just saying...

Well, as far as I can tell the momma was handling it correctly? What was her response? Was she willing to use the government boob for a candy bar, or did she correct her rug rat?

Buying gas with her own money, refusing to use the Lone Star card to buy a candy bar? Sounds like the way it should have gone down

Yesterday at a gas station in Irving, I got behind 2 boys that couldn't have been older than 10 that bought $15 worth of Big Red, Doritos, and candy with someone's Lonestar card. I felt like I had just figured out where my tax dollars are going.

What is worse is having a parent say no to a hungry kid and then buying cigarrettes or lottery tickets.

I worked at a convenience store during High School and saw it all the time.
