I saw some ginormous fatty with a brand new baby this weekend, fat gut hanging out, at Wal mart pull that same sort of shit. She threw her slop up on the counter then explained she had food stamps for the food and needed a couple of packs of cigarettes for which she had cash.

No doubt some people need the assistance. Mostly old people and the disabled. As a society we shouldn't let the disabled or the old go hungry. But a lot of the able bodied adults are just human livestock.

Actually, it was spot on, the use of tax-payer's money given to people who waste it on luxury items. Is a candy bar food? Is high dollar Nikes shoes? Yes to both, but in BOTH instances there are far better, less wasteful items to spend the tax-payer's money. THAT is what you are missing.

I'm surprised you could concentrate enough to respond over the sound of gun fire and police sirens down there in South Dallas.

Hard to say what I would do in that case. But I am pretty sure I would have said "I have some loose change in my car. If you don't mind I will buy her a candy bar". Can't fault the kid.....

I understand people that use it to help give them a little extra time to find another job. There should be a limit, 3 months sounds pretty reasonable, you should have to pass a drug test every time money is deposited into your account and there should be absolutely no unnecessary things allowed to be purchased while on an "assistance" program.

Not in Arlington. But I guess that doesn't really matter since you wouldn't show up anyway.
