Let's talk high powered fog lamps

Its been years since I shopped for any and I figure surely the tactical led flashlight market has surely caught up to use the same technology in automotive spot lights right? What are the choice lights used on 4x4's now? Everything I have seen in retail stores are just 55 watt halogens.

So, the difference is obvious on flood vs spot light. What differentiate a fog light from those two? What is the end goal you're aiming for out of this one?

I'm curious too, different purpose though. Can sometimes use a good set of lights for the boat, when I get stuck in rain at night and can't see 20'.
