I damn near bought a MD player in 95. I was also looking at DAT too. Do you remember digital cassette?

Ahh yes the great Phillips Digital Compact Cassette.

I actually HAD an Alpine 5700 DAT deck for a brief period but decided the sound was no better than what came out of my 7907 CD player and I didn't like having to wait for the tape to wind. DAT tapes were very hard to find also.
