Hip Hop in a Honky Tonk

Ok, so one of our stops this weekend in Dallas was a big ole place called Cowboys.
It's supposed to be a country dance Bar / club
Big place, big dance floor, pool tables, lotsa hot bar tender girls in tiny tiny clothes.

Place was pretty packed, but dance floor, not so much

Until...... The minute some trendy crap or some hip hop song comes on the dance floor hardly
Has room for anyone to move.
Every girl in the place is dancing like strippers, and standing on tables even
The bar tender girls stand in the iced beer wells and start shakin their asses.

It was truly a sight to see.

My question is this, why go to a country club if what you really wanna hear is some crap music

Although me and even the wife very much enjoyed the show. LOL

Have you not been watching the Country Music Awards? HUGE rapper influence now! Several black entertainers were on the show, and some doing duets with white boys!

Because it's their shining moment to display themselves to be taken home by a random for the night.

That's how pretty much how all of the big "country bars" work in cities. It's a dance club that happens to play mostly country. Otherwise look at what happens at Billy Bobs. The place gets packed solid while the band plays, people are there for the band. Within seconds of the performance ending though 90% of the crowd leaves and heads to one of the other bars that plays a mix of country and hip hop.

It's not that you used honky tonk, it's that you called Cowboy's a honky tonk.

That's how pretty much how all of the big "country bars" work in cities. It's a dance club that happens to play mostly country. Otherwise look at what happens at Billy Bobs. Within seconds of the performance ending though 90% of the crowd leaves and heads to one of the other bars that plays a mix of country and hip hop.

Part of that equation is you need to make choo$$$$ choooooooooooo$$$$$$$$ money to drink at Billy Bobs, compared to a lot of the smaller bars in the area.

The other part of the equation is driven by women. They don't care about the song as long as there is a beat they can dance to. The country bars have always played Hip Hop on Friday and Saturday nights, the women like to dance to it. And if you can get women in your bar, the men and their money will be there to pay for it.
