Thanks. This is what I was looking for. I'll look around.
Nothing cool as far as a car goes, but if you want photos of your ride...I can handle that. Check out my Facebook page if you're bored.

new chisholm trail is being put in that goes to downtown. Personally I like mustang creek just south of benbrook lake. 1187 will be straight shot to mansfield.

Yeah there's definitely a douche bag feel to the area, but you can get a lot of home for the money. That's what we like about it.

I typically tend to laugh at the Jones' and their followers. I'm not part of that scene. Replace "Tim" with Brad and this meme was written to describe me. I'm trying to instill this in my kids.

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

I close on a house in Frisco on the 25th. I've lived in Frisco for the last two and a half years, and there are some really douchey people for sure, but I made sure to walk around the neighborhood I was looking to buy in to meet people who were out walking around, and everyone seemed nice enough. We are getting a great house for our money, in fact it just appraised for more than the contract was signed for. The main reason we wanted to stay in Frisco was that we hate moving around and wanted to stay in ine place for an extended period of time, and since kids are on the horizon you can't beat Frisco ISD for public schools in the metroplex.

If you decide on mansfield stay away from the Timberview and Summit networks. Since you have younger kids Willie Brown ES is the best elementary school around.

Mansfield is ok....just stay away from Mira Lagos area. I just moved out from that area has gone to crap...Use to be very calm but in last 6 months it has became very bad.

The area over by Wall Nut Hill CC is nice..

We wanted to eventually end up in the Frisco, Allen, McKinney area, but it's looking like that won't happen. I guess I could do that, but I'd have a LONG drive each day. lol

I'm not opposed to being closer to the hustle and bustle of the metroplex, but I do like the idea of not living 10 feet from my neighbor.
IMHO, you maybe able to get a good house for the buck in those places - but you are not going to find cheap land. Even in VA, semi-developed land is 30-50K an acre now - which beats the 75K+ in some of those areas (Plano I know for sure, just not a 100% on those places. )

Anna is a good mix between VA and Mckinney. Hell, I once saw a house for sale with an in-door pool and a couple of acres for 250K in Anna. Although I've heard and been told crime is an issue there, I don't hear any major complaints from folks I know there. Hell, the local kids here in VA commit "crimes" being dumb ass kids.

There are parts of mansfield ISD that pull from other areas, southern arlington being one of them. Mixes in some of the trash, and some appartment dwellers. I live across the street from Summit, and it seems ok, but there are better options. Where I grew up is 9% white, so most of the "nicer" areas look great to me.
