I am not like Frost and believe the police are worthless and out to get me.
I don't believe police are worthless and out to get me. What I do believe is some trample on constitutional rights because they <Dredd voice> ARE THE LAW </ Dredd voice>. Police officers would get VERY pissed if I decided to take a walk through their homes when they step out as they should. I ask for the same courtesy.

You would be wrong. I'm a LEO and would appreciate you locking my home up if I mistakenly left it open. As an Officer I'm not entering your home to steal from you.

But you are looking for reasons to arrest him or someone else.

So your cool with me just walking around your home, if you let it unlocked - as long as I lock it on the way out? Muddy shoes and all? You know the women get pissed over that crap?

I mean, you have no need to know what I'm doing while in there though. I'll just lock the door though to make you happy.

Are you saying there are never any cases of cops stealing from individuals? Would you like me to open your fence, go up your stairs, enter your home, walk through it and then leave you a card? Or would I be getting a very pissed off call about entering your house with a visit from you in a black and white?

I mean it's also not like there's an amendment in the actual founding documents that says something about cops entering your home without your permission or warrant

I mean it's also not like there's case law allowing LEOs to enter a home if exigent circumstances apply. The circumstance that a felony burglary might be in progress and police are commissioned to stop/impede crime. There is no need to argue that you feel that this isn't an exigent circumstance to you, because you don't matter. Appellate courts and supreme court already deemed it lawful and necessary. I understand you don't want anyone in your home. That is awesome. Not here to argue with you as that is impossible or not a sane act. You are not out there to see numerous times criminals climb balconies to enter location via the sliding glass door. I'm talking 3 story complexes. So as police we will enter the location if we are called out there to ensure a burglary is not in progress and make and effort to contact the resident to let them now their home is not secure. We will either secure it if we can or let them know to come home to do it themselves.

I already told you I would be thankful if you secured my home. Totally different if you entered my home to steal from me. Read and comprehend please!

That officer did not enter her home to take anything. She did not claim anything was missing.

Does that statement stink of "fuck you, I'm a cop" to you as well, or is it just me?

This whole thread is pretty damned funny.

We elect officials and lawmakers that pass laws like these, and then the police do thier job as they are told, but they are the evil ones? Blame yourselves for that vote, or lack of.
