I know I would risk life and limb for my family, the people I care about, or even a complete stranger. Do I think the cop handled it the right way? No. But from what I read his intentions were good. He was attempting to save a mans life, he just went about it the wrong way.

Put in the cops place I probably would have tried to stop him.

Put in the fathers place I would have been running in without hesitating.

I can and it isn't pretty. If I knew my son was dead and I was stopped from saving him.... my life isn't worth anything beyond that point. My sense of honor ends at protecting my family. If you use force to stop me from even trying? Pray I either have a heart attack from the shock or the shock of losing my child because I will have one thought and only one.

That pretty well sums it up in my opinion.

                Really?

So now your son is dead, and you would ruin your life by dying or going to prison and let your family try to make it without you?

                You selfish SOB.

                  Here's the sad story

Video in the link as well: http://intellihub.com/2013/06/06/pol...s-not-make-it/
                  OK,

This is an Intellihub article, which is known for its over-the-top/conspiracy writings.

If the grandparents got out, why didn't they go in and get the infant?

I'll tell you, because the fire was to damn big.

Why didn't any of the firemen in bunker gear go in? Because they knew that if there was anyone in there, they were gone and it would put them at risk of dying.

Did the firemen stop the dad, or was it the police the entire time? Did the police have to stop him from assaulting a fireman as he tried to get in the house?

Due to the way that article is written, you have to take it with a grain of salt.

Apparently the grandparents, police, and firemen with all their gear couldn't get the child, what makes anyone think that the dad with no gear or training would have been successful?

Yes, I am and yes I would. You want to take it upon yourself to electrocute me and I cannot at least TRY to save my kid? That comes with a cost. Use of force always comes with a cost.

He may have had zero chance at all, but a man has to try. If he is willing to try, you tell him it's too hot and let him decide. Decisions are part of a free society as are repercussions for those decisions. He was willing to risk his life to try to find his kid in a blaze. His choice. Cop decided to use force in the form of a taser to force him not to. That is a choice and has a repercussion. Pray he isn't someone who turns that anger and hatred at losing a child at the man who stopped him.

I tried to save a guy in a car fire back in 1995-ish.

The car was fully engulfed in flames, and I could see his outline on fire as well.

As I ran up with a fire extinguisher (like a lot of good it would have done), my body literally stopped me from getting any closer. I could not move.

As I came to my senses and realized the body wasn't moving/screaming and was totally on fire,I withdrew I realized that I no longer had any arm hair or eyebrows/eyelashes.

Typical. Cops let a baby die, and trublu supports his brothers in uniform. The cops could have shot the baby in the face and trublu would support them.

                              *sigh*

You are as mad as Frosty.

I like how you focus on the police, but put no responsibility on the grand parents or the FD.

                              Way to go!!!

The cops didn't let that baby die. That baby was dead. If the FD wasn't going in and the cops weren't going in either, that house was gone. If the baby wasn't dead from the fire it was dead from smoke inhalation. It's almost comical how much you guys give Trublu shit on here.
