  • hub rings???

are they needed? a vehicle with a 71.5mm hub and want to run rims that have an 83.7mm. where can hub rings be purchased? i think i would feel better if they were hub centric.

    god bless.

Jegs sells them, at least that's where I got my last set from.

Tire Rack also sells them. I don't know how much though because they just gave me a set for free.

Bear with me as all wheels/hardware Dont have this feature.

Dont lug nuts with radial shoulders naturally center themselves about the concavity of the wheel's stud hole when torqued properly?

In theory. Rarely works that way.

That's a big gap for no rings. I ran rings on a 4mm delta.

Ran plastic ones I got off the net. Metal ones aren't needed.

Hubcentric spacers are needed for sure, check H&R, adapt tech or ebay.

so after more reading than i really cared to do, i am even more confused. do you get hubcentric rings to support the weight of the vehicle on the hub and not on the wheel studs, or do you get them to ensure that the lug nuts go on evenly?

                god bless.

They are to center the wheel to the hub..... using rings.

That's why you install a hub-centric ring onto the wheel.

They don't support the weight just hold the wheel centered while you tighten the lug nuts. Made a huge difference for me. Jeep just felt skidish without them. I got mine on amazon and it wouldn't hurt to grab an extra set just in case you crack or lose one during a rotation or flat.

If you find a wheel that has a larger hub than this there may be a hub ring available.

                      1. Hub rings are not spacers

2.they do not carry a load.

                      3. All a hub ring does is full the gap and help you center the wheel on the hub when mounting the wheel and tire on the vehicle.

4.Hub rings can help prevent/ minimize vibrations that are caused by a miss aligned wheel.

so the braintrust here agrees with these 4 statements?

                      god bless.

Best way would be to get rims with a 71.5mm hole!
