That's not all that crazy when you consider the cost of alternatives, such as a lift ticket to go snow skiing, or just about any "all day" excursion when on a cruise or beach vacation.
I've been to both Disney parks, and we aren't talking about Six Flags, it truly is a destination type vacation.

Your California living has melted your logic.
Say it with me: everything is too damn expensive these days.
My brother just surprised his two daughters this past weekend with a trip to disneyland. They are there now. I already told my kids not to even think about it. I got them season passes to sixflags/hurricane harbor so we go all the time.
The magic number I keep hearing from people that go is around $5k for a family of 4 after tickets/hotels/airfare/etc.
Military discount is just a couple of bucks these days.
We went through ITT (or whatever it was called) and always got killer deals. One time we got cheap tickets for a cruise ship and got a free room upgrade out of it. Either way, still expensive to do the whole Disney package, good fun though.
I'll be going to the Disney in Florida in December. Wife wants to see the Hogwart's school and her work is paying so I'm all for it. Last time I went though, it was stupid expensive and that's if you ignored the trinkets and food and drinks
