Only you could think the likes of Green Eggs and Ham is convoluted...
Scientists do not coddle ideas. They crash test them. They run them into a brick wall at 60 miles per hour and then examine the pieces.

If the idea is sound, the pieces will be that of the wall.

After all, on 4 Aug, 2010, California's ban on gay marriages was ruled to be unconstitutional. Making the limiting marriage, in the way that was intended with the wording, is not enforceable any more than a religious litmus test is when running for public office. That's why I explicitly stated that it would be ignored regardless of whether it is enforceable or not.

However, from a strictly legal standpoint, the Texas constitution forbids it from recognizing anything identical to marriage. Coincidentally, marriage is identical to marriage preventing it from being legally recognized by the state, per the state's constitution.

Nope. However, referring to paternal twins as "identical" twins is a colloquial term, much like when people say they have a theory, because twins are not actually identical. Even if it weren't being used colloquially, it would still make no difference, as marriage would still be identical to marriage. After all, each of the twins would actually be identical to themself, in the same way that everyone else is identical to themself.

Regardless, colloquial terms have absolutely no legal weight. So, it's a non-issue to this discussion.

My officiant is a registered minister through some random online church and it's totally legal. The state doesn't really care and won't follow up. As long as you wait 3 days and you aren't related and someone signs it and they look official it's legal.

you can do it under the umbrella of the Church of Christ. You do not need to be "ordained" in TX if you do so. According to the CoC, anyone that can give the sacrement can marry someone(male over 18). My friend from AR came down and married us in 2010

Why don't you just save them a whole hell a lot of time and just tell them that it wont work out in the long run.

Nothing in life is certain... But the relationship is also longer than 3 months and she didn't fuck a baseball player during that 3 months.

Edit: I was slow on the draw for that one.

[QUOTE=Treybiz;1075509]So funny question that I haven't done a whole ton of research on but I figured DFWM would be the place to get all things odd ball, weird, and slightly inappropriate answered...

How can one become ordained easily? Couple wants to have a friend marry them and they are not the religious types.

Legit and Legal in Texas? No same sex business going on here just people that don't feel the need to get married in a church or by a person of the faith.

                                Anybody done it?

There is no BENEFIT for a man to get married
