NTTA toll rates = Bend Over...

The thing that gets me is the time it took for them to send the fucking bill. I rolled through a handful of tolls near DFW back in Sept and just got the bill 2 weeks ago.

Went on their site to pay it and couldn't find anywhere to pay just the amount due. All it would let me do is open an account and charge me $40 to have on tap. I declined and sent them a check through my bank. Got a second notice yesterday, but when I called to pay it it said it had been paid.

The other annoying thing was there wasn't a lane available to hand over cash when I was driving through. Every other state I've been in still has at least one lane for a cash transaction.

Oh well, looks like I'll be dropping my tailgate next time I go through.

I loaned my car out to a friend who rolled through a toll road in it. As soon as he told me I was on the site looking at how to pay it and found the same thing. I had to call them and pay them over the phone and have them email me a receipt. The lady on the phone kept saying "It's handled, don't worry."

"No, I want a receipt."

"It's just a couple bucks."

"Yep, that will turn in a couple hundred. Send me my receipt."

"It really isn't necessary."

"Here's my email and this call is being recorded. Send me my receipt."

I don't worry about paying tolls, i just slap on my plates that are over 10yrs old and purged in the system....no bill here i just dont speed

I'm still going to use the toll. It's the only way I can speed from 183 to 30 without any problems.

I've seen that first one before. It is more interesting to me because cops around here have those license plate readers on top of their cars. My only concern is that one of those may alert the cop that it can't read the plate.

I dont think the NTTA cameras shoot a flash, they just have a spot light?

Not only more, the cost will keep going up and up too. They raised the Eldorado toll from $1.05 to $2.30 in one increase a couple years back. That's when I boycotted them. It felt great turning in my tolltags and getting a refund.

I've never seen a flash, that's when the second link that John posted would come in handy.

The first link seems like it's reserved only for red light cameras and radar stations that shoot photos with a flash.

I hate the fucking NTTA with a passion. My wife's tolltag account is cursed and those assholes could never figure out what is wrong.
She has updated the card information at least 10 times online and on the phone with them, yet we kept getting letters saying her tolls are overdue and her account balance is below 0.
Bank records show that the card has been getting charged but they always want her to pay anyway for the tolls and won't try to figure out what the fuck the problem is. Left messages for the manager several times and never got a response.
I finally just had to have her go to the NTTA office and cancel the fucking account and put her on my tolltag.
I refuse to use the tollway unless I absolutely have to. I drive on surface streets all the way from 121/75 to DNT/Frankford ever morning and evening for work. My wife on the other hand won't stop using the tollway.
