My first piss after the scope looked like strawberry puree. They have a pill that turns your piss blue/green but makes that sharp pain very dull, ill see if I have the bottle still so i can tell you the name. After my scooe sitting down to pee or sitting in a chair were my only ways to get temporary comfort for like 5 days. I feel your pain man, quite literally. When they finally take that stint out it wjll feel like the clouds open and angels are singing.. just hold out. Also lots of yogurt w your meds to keep the stomach calm, and set an alarm if your dose occurs at night, makes a huge diff. Get better brother.

Update, I pissed out my 4.5mm stone a couple weeks ago the morning after taking a flight (DFW to Atlanta). It broke apart upon entering the toilet bowl and broke up easily like sand. It was pain free coming out of my shooter.

The pain got less and less with the passing weeks prior to the stone passing. The only real discomfort was the burning sensation at the end of each whiz. After the stone passed, instant relief!

Good luck guys. Hang in there. And don't panic if the stone is under 5-6mm in size. It will come out in due time. Save that $$$!

I think I mentioned it before. Get some Hydrangea (pill form) from a health food store 2 pills three times a day and LOTS of water. It will help with stones and general kidney pain or urinary tract issues

For a preventative, it is probaby better to increase water intake. I had intermittent issues until I upped my water intake

I use to drink pepsi like water al day, I had 3 stones last year 1 about every 2 months. I stopped all pepsi and colored drinks. I noticed every time I drank sweet tea for few days the stone would show up. The 1st stone just hurt like hell, the candyman at the ER was my best friend, the 2nd 2 had me throwing up they hurt so bad, I passed the 3rd and cough tit in the screen they give you it was a tad bigger then a grain of rice. Damn thing got stuck have way out I not having fun for about 30 minutes till I could piss again.
I only drink water, sprite and lemonade now and have not had one since I quit the drinking pepsi and sweet tea.

I have had kidney stones twice before, worst pain ever. I do not drink much soda and stay away from tea, milk and cola, lots of water is the trick to keeping the bastards away.

I would do surgery every time. It's like having a sore tooth. Sure you can pull it out yourself but wouldn't you rather have a dentist do it?

It costs me nearly $200 to see my urologist this year with our high deductible insurance plan. Crazy. I decided that before I go see any more specialists outside my primary care physician, I'm going the DIY route.

And in this case, it was holding out to piss out the manageable sized stone. For some guys with stones bigger than 5-6mm, you may have no choice but the surgery. For me, it was one night of HELL, a few long stretches of major discomfort, and minor to medium discomfort taking a whiz (two months total). I think it was worth riding it out. I'd do it again.

Yes but for a fucked up wrist and having fluid pulled off my knees.
