Lemonade and milk are what I've been told to drink regularly to keep stones from forming. How well it works I'm not sure, but it may be worth a try for some.

SEB, catch the stone and have it tested. I always had everyone blame cokes for mine and I was banned from them, because my dad was tired of the medical bills since I started at 12-13 with them. However, after seeing many doctors fresh tomatoes and red meat came to be culprits. Final diagnosis was hereditary and fresh tomatoes. My kidneys still get a tender feeling when I cheat and have a bit of tomato.

flaring pain was mine. It was consistent all day, but I had no flank pain at all. Mine was stuck at the end of the ureter for over two months- I went to the ER and had a scan done and they said " its less than a centimeter from your bladder you'll pass it tonight or tomorrow." nope!

Keep working with it man. Its crazy that you feel 100% better when it passes. I forgot what normal felt like lol

The pain is gradually getting worse. They are not able to perform the surgery till Friday cause I took to many asprin and Doc is worried I will bleed out. They took me for surgery yesterday and placed a stint in me. They went through junk and it hurts like hell when I pee. My right testical feels like a constant pain of being kicked in my balls. My lower rigjt back feels like I'm being stabbed constantly n twisting the knife back n fourth. I have never had so much pain from this many places so close together. Its like time is standing still.

The pain medicine really isn't helping anymore. My stomach is bloated from not peeing much n haven't shit in four days. I have myself to blame for all this. Lesson learned. Get off the cokes. Wow! That's exactly where my 4.5mm stone is lodged and has been for a month. Good to know.

SEB, when you said "have never had so much pain from this many places so close together," man, that is the truth. It's either your bb gun, your balls, your abs or your back. The stone just chooses where to beat you up. Last Sunday I had the kicked in the nuts feeling all day long...all day. If you can, drink a half glass full of apple cider vinegar and water (or substitute lemon juice with water), it really made my pain less pretty immediately.

God Bless you man. I'm sorry for what you're going through. I wouldn't wish this on anyone.

Update, I was released last night from the hospital. Almost bitched out and went back around 10, Felt my pain come back on almost the strongest I had ever felt. My teeth where chattering the pain was unbearable. Reason why I still have pain. They placed a 10 inch long stint up the head of my penis & it runs all the way up to my right kidney. Every time I pee I have a black string that comes out about a inch from the head of my penis. Feels like fire when it pops out when I pee. The point of the stint is to keep the 8.5mm stone from lodging back in my right ureter & my kidneys becoming infected and me going ceptic. With the stint I can now pee & the stone is right above the stint which moved it back up in my kidney. Monday I am scheduled for Lithotripsey to break the stone up so I can pass it naturally. In the mean time between now and then I am supposed to rest & take it easy. I could have stayed in the hospital to manage the pain or they gave me the option to go home. I took option B, But my I missed Xmas with my kids & family. Needless to say the hospital & my urologist felt really bad. My sons mother works for Medical City & she was able to pull some strings & got me put on her floor where I spent my stay. Well since they told me 3 different dates for this Litho treatment & each time I was canceled on. Keep in mind when you are scheduled for Surgery, You are not allowed to eat or drink anything. Well I was in the hospital for 5 days with the only thing being accomplished was the surgery to put in the stint. So this whole expierence has been a complete cluster fuck & made much worse then it needed to be. Passing a normal 4mm stone is painful as giving birth from what I hear, They said a 8.5 mm stone is not normal & is not common & much more painful. So knock on wood. My urologist is going to perform the surgery free of charge because of all the screw ups of me not being able to eat the nights I was scheduled for surgery the next day & only to be cancled on & be starving for nothing & then miss Xmas with my family for nothing & then running my hospital bill up for nothing. I must say I fell lucky they are trying to wave the costs of the Surgery & Hospital stay. Still have many other bills that I will have to pay though because of this. The Hospital is going to try & qualify me for a charity case since I am a small business owner with no insurance. So maybe all this pain & missing Xmas with my kids wasn't for nothing.

I am still in extreme pain. I have a constant pain of 3 & then at night it will spike to a 10+ for some reason the pain comes on at night. I was told the stint is actually more painful then the stone itself because of the pressure it creates on me because the stone is pressing down on the stint in my kidney and that is what create's pain. He said once they break it up with the surgery it wont be painful. But between now & the surgery I will be in some intense pain at times. I cant describe the pain other then having a knife in your back & it being twisted back & fourth & then someone kicking you in your nuts at the same time. This is actually how the pain really feels and let me tell you. YES ITS THE WORST PAIN I HAVE EVER FELT! The pain comes in waves and can last up to 1 hour each wave & be as short as 15 mins. But when it does come on I am shivering & shaking & have the sweats. It really is torture! I feel like time stands still.

Lesson learned here. Don't ever need surgery during the Holidays & MOST OF ALL! TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF! Don't EAT BAD & DON'T DRINK COKES & EAT LOTS OF SUGAR. I have learned that I am in fact not a young man anymore & I need to eat right & learn to higher out labor & stop trying to do my jobs with less men when the job calls for more & walk away from the job if the customer wants to cheap out. Just not worth my health & the little bit of money I will make. I relize I am getting older, I will be 38 years old this Feb & my body is not letting me forget that. Money is not worth my health.

I will keep you guys posted and report back after surgery. Please pray for my pain to keep at bay & not be so strong as I can not tell you how bad Kidney stones really are. But believe me when I say this. It is something you never want to go through. I would never wish this kind of pain on my worst enemys.
