I have a slight obligation to defend them, since my dad retired from there after he retired from the Army, and I'm hanging out at the house those retirements paid for, and eating all my parents food this week.

Man, that was back in the day when Highway 10 was a real big deal. And nice.

Igor Sikorsky (born and raised in Russia) invented the horizontal main rotor/vertical tail rotor system. And the X2 holds the absolute speed record for helicopters. Variants of the H-3 are still in regular service with at least 4 countries 55 years after they entered service. Hardly yankee or shit.
Oh, and...

Every manufacturer mentioned thus far builds helicopters in the United States. I don't talk too much shit about any of them because they all have an important economic impact on our country. When the government pays, the government controls.

Google 'x-49a speedhawk' for one seriously cool helicopter. The ducted tail could be added to any basic airframe but the proof of concept used a Sikorsky.
Technology is bringing some amazing changes to rotary wing aircraft.
