It's accidents like these that keep me from owning a bike. Every time I feel the itch to get one, I come across a thread like this....

            RIP

Even though I DO agree with you, motorcycle riders are at a severe disadvantage. I get paranoid around bikes, because I'm human and make mistakes. I generally make sure they are going faster than me so I can see them and get away from me. A small tap from a car (even a Prius) can be the end of life for the rider.

Same here. The cons way out weight the pros for sure. Especially in the populated areas.

This is why I quit riding.

                  RIP...

I rarely take my Raider out because of the idiots on the street. One lapse in concentration can be your last at any given moment.

I live just a few minutes from where it happened. Those people that live in that neighborhood are not very bright when coming on to Custer, at the north side of Cotton Ridge. South side has an opened view looking left to right. North side has a disadvantage of road view. Especially if two vehicles are side by side trying to go opposite directions on Custer.

Someone was not paying attention for it to happen on the south side. I bet money another traffic light is gonna be built on Custer to prevent this from happening again. Which will probably lower the speed limit, since they just raised the speed limit about 8 months ago.

I am not 100% on this, I think my son and I ate lunch beside him at JC's Burger House on the west side of McKinney. My son being 5 likes to talk to police officers all the time and which led to a nice lunch with him that day.

I hate hearing about people who dedicate their lives to serving others, passing away.

                    Rip.

RIP to the guy, but what does being a cop have to do with it?

No foul meant, but his profession has absolutely nothing to do with his death on the motorcycle nor does it make his story any more newsworthy than any other motorcycle fatality... just my 02 cents.
