      I think i read that he was actually "runner-up" behind Benedict last time. That means he's been 'popular' for a while

      Maybe this isn't as off-the-wall and odd as people think, but more a shift (realization? realignment?) in church thinking. (Not that the catholic priesthood is the rule making authority here)

      Anyway, not in the theology forum. No more distraction from me.

        The catholic church has to adapt or it will force itself into the realm of irrelevancy, they may have finally figured that out. After all, they didn't clear Galileo of any wrongdoing until 1992.
