Fuck. Come on. What happened to just being a damn KID? Who the hell thinks about being "gay" or "straight" in 3rd grade? I'm pretty sure kids didn't say "Oh, I'm a straight kid, what about you?", even only 10 years ago...

I don't give a damn what any adult's sexual preference is, but I have a real problem with third graders being told it's fun/hip/cool to be gay. Choosing to live a gay lifestyle is one thing, but indoctrination is another. That's just my childless nutjob right-wing stance on it.
I do agree with this. Indoctrination removes choice, which is the whole crux of the matter in my opinion.

        I blame Canaduh.
Good judgment comes from bad decisions and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

Agreed, when preaching it to minors, there is a line that is crossed.

I am still like "WTF" over the whole boy scout thing. They are letting this happen but still keeping the boys and girls segregated?

Here is a study from 2012 about somatic mutations:

New research shows that identical twins do not share all of their DNA. They undergo hundreds of mutations during early fetal development. These mutations could multiply over the years. If the genetic differences between identical twins are significant, many traits and diseases thought to be a product of environmental factors could be in the genes.

Now, not to discredit your article, but this was on Psychology Today as opposed to Pastor Holland Davis's blog.

Of course it isn't mentioned. You don't see the people pushing for new gun laws citing the fact that gun violence has been on the decline for almost 2 decades, do you? What a ridiculous statement.

I recognize my stance isn't popular and is countercultural and in may cases people choose to dislike me for it, but I'm Ok with that and won't lose any sleep over their opinion/like or dislike of me.

Saved and Texan by the Grace of God, Redneck by choice.
There's a striking difference between a legitimate, peer reviewed, scientific study and some zealot publishing his hate mongering based on incorrect, debunked hypothesis.

Perhaps I am missing something. But, what does it matter how someone arrives at a personal choice? If I choose to like the color red, does it matter whether or not I was born to like the color or I chose to like it based on my own reasoning?

My guess is this somehow correlates to the argument that those who are gay are making an informed decision to hate God, because if they were "born Gay" than that could be argued as God's will?

One thing that is always consistent, and comical, on this site among those who attempt to cherry-pick Scripture (usually via google, LOL) is that they haven't a clue about how Old Testament verses relate to New Testament verses.

Or, you know, those that blatantly ignore both, but whatever. Right?

It doesn't seem to be working very well. Which is one reason I have never bought off on homosexuality being a genetic trait. If it truly were a genetic trait, then it would have died out thousands of years ago because there is no reproduction to carry on that trait.

While I don't believe it to be fully genetic, you're statement isn't quite correct. It could carry on as a recessive trait.

Who the heck is telling 3rd graders it's cool? If you're talking about TV shows, then it's the same thing telling kids that violence, sex, partying, etc are cool. And it's up to the parents to screen that stuff from their kids and help them make sense of it all when the time is right. If someone is really worried about someone preaching "gay is cool" to their kids, then they are ridiculously paranoid. Reminds of the reefer madness bullshit.
