Cleaning up and inspecting a Dana 20 transfer case, getting it and a TH350 transmission read to stuff into the postal Jeep sometime this weekend. Kinda sick of the Powerglide.
After that, drinking a bunch of beer and tequila.

You can get your Cisco certs paid for. My brother in law works for Cisco. Has tons of certs, but got in the door a few years back mainly with a CCNA and a lot of actual work experience in a high call volume help desk. After a period of time, management paid for his training and cost of the test for CCNP. He's now moving in to Cisco's sales division on high end routing/user managed switch equipment for big clients. He moved up fast, but the CCNA got him in the door more than MCSE or MS Exchange or A+ or iNet+, etc.....Companies like Cisco and Perot Systems want more than just paper techs. You got to get the certs and some hands on experience before moving into the bigger tax brackets. At least that's been my experience and that of people that I know. Some people get lucky and get a good position based on good old fashion nepotism or having friends in the right places.

Oh yea, I hear ya. I been in IT for about 10 years now, just never went in for any certs. I think I'll do CISCO on my own and try to get my employer to pay for vmware next year (they paid for this 2008 server for me on this years budget)
