  • Chainsaws needed in Moore, Oklahoma!

I know a lot of people have already donated, or even volunteered, but here's another chance to help. According to my friend and yours, Adam (ThreeFingerPete), the biggest thing they need is actually chainsaws, and beefy ones at that. There are trees down everywhere, and it's really slowing cleanup down. To that end, he has asked me to ask you if any of you can donate money for chainsaws, donate or even lend chainsaws, or see if anyone knows anyone in the equipment game that could set up a discounted mass rental for this purpose. Adam can be reached at, or paypal'd at onebadwagon@gmail.com., and donated equipment or supplies can be dropped off at Plano Cycling & Fitness. Adam will be back up there all this week, so any help you can give will be delivered immediately. Thanks in advance, guys.

EDIT: Anyone wanting to watch his progress can do it on his Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ThreeFingerPete

Anyone wanting their help to go to a specific place or cause is urged to email Adam. He has a lot of contacts in the relief effort, and will be glad to help you get in touch with who you need to.

      Ha!

Guys, more specifically, they need guys to run chainsaws in the areas surrounding Moore. Little Axe, Newcastle, etc. Moore proper is doing pretty well as far as volunteers food items, etc. but they need CDL drivers apparently. Anything helps.

Got up here today. Damage unreal. They do need chainsaws and people who know how to operate them. Also need bolt cutters, lots of wires everywhere making it hard to get through debris. Seems like they have the food and water thing taken care of, as they are both everywhere. Tools are harder to come by. Shovels, chainsaws, bolt cutters and people with heavy duty equipment like bulldozers are needed

x2 on food and water. You can't go 10 minues without someone pulling up and asking if you need anything.

If I wasn't committed to house sitting from Tuesday to next Saturday watching 3 pets I would totally do this. I have 3 saws, ran a tree trimming service, and have a CDL. If my help is needed following next Saturday I'm still offering.

CDL drivers can contact these people:

They have a lot of busses, and not enough drivers.

We just got back from OK and it's a mess. It's like a bomb went off.

Seeing pickup trucks and cars in mangled piles threw me for a loop. They must have been flung around something fierce.

The Moore Animal Shelter told us they took in around 120 animals and have reunited around 30 so far. Right after the tornado the San Francisco, Flower Mound, and NYCanimal shelters sent some trucks and took ALL of the animals Moore had before the storm. They wanted them to have every available space and opportunity to reunite owners/pets and be able to take in every displaced pet they could.

Here's a shot of Moore yesterday afternoon.
