you need to go wild for sure. paint that looks like snake skin? or marble it with dark red and black. ive always just started fucking with it until i find something that makes sense and then go for it. pick your favorite piece in the room and do alot of painting techniques around it until something works

Sorry man, I was just trolling you because of the whole colorblind thing.

If I was hanging guitars, I'd consider a red velvet curtain along the whole wall. Hides the hangers and looks dramatic. More expensive than paint though.
