Well I am finding lots of clean 02 DSG Harley trucks with 100k for about 12 grand. I like the idea of keeping the king cab and also having a moonroof. I will lose a little performance but will gain some hauling abilities. I am liking the idea more and more.

JL does make a nice box to go inside the rear console with a 12w3v3 in it for under $600 and that works for me.

Does the HD still have the 4r100 and the 9.75 trac loc rear end?

You better go buy a lottery ticket then. Because you are the luckiest guy I ever meet. Myself and hundreds of lightning owners have had front end problems. It is not just the ball joint thats caused the death wobble. Cracked I beam brackets, gear boxes, etc.. There was a company that made a double A-arm conversion for the gen 1 trucks too.

As for the new ones, its $30,650 for a new 5.0 regular cab with power options. 29k for bare bones. I don't have choo choo money.
You aren't paying any where close to $30k for a regular cab. I know some one who bought an STX 5.0 for $21k otd. My sis got a supercrew 5.0 xlt last august for $29K otd.

Dunno what to tell ya. I just used the online builder and that's the price it spit out. I am sure there are rebates and of course nobody pays sticker but its still way more than I want to spend.

I love the Lightning but after doing a bunch of research I think the 2002-2003 HD edition is the better bet. Don't really care for the 03 ANV color scheme so it will prolly be a DSG 02. Love the black ones but I hate taking care of black. Swirl marks dive me nuts.

I am going to set a 12k budget and try and get the best truck I can for that. Something Southern so I don't have to worry about rust issues.
Good, gives me a goal to save for. Hope to buy myself it for Christmas.

This one is the right height, color, window tint and exhaust so when I pull the trigger I will baiscly have its twin.

You won't regret getting the HD. We loved ours! They get up and scoot for a 4 door truck, haul 4 people comfortably, and can haul a decent load, all while looking good. I did also put 2 chamber flows on it, and dual tip exhaust out both sides, instead of just out the one side like a traditional Harley. It was loud as hell, but sounded good IMO.

I would buy a 6.0l 2wd truck, do studs, egr delete, and custom SCT tunes. Will have about the same power and can haul whatever you want.

Reg cab 4x4's are expensive for what you get...

I want one... I REALLY want Reg cab 6.4, but I got a loaded out CCSB for the same or less than a reg cab XLT

I won't lie. I really want to take my 02 F250 7.3 crew and Harley clone in. I love the interiors and dig the black paint jobs. Still want decent wheels and tires to keep the truck usable. I wonder what years seats I need to poach if I do this. I would like the newer nose also. Whew I bet it would cost me a pretty penny to do this.

Would be bad as if ford made a new lightning. A std cab truck with the 6.2 and a few tweaks would be badass!!!

Yeah I really dig the interiors too. Truck makes more sense than a Lightning because sometimes I have to give customers a ride home. I also really love moonroofs and auto climate control. Plus the HD is cheaper than a Lightning so its win win.
