Not a BJ but I worked for Manheim for quite a while and we did some collector car auctions. The collector auctions bring in a lot of snobby dicks who are there to try and impress all the other snobby dicks. The auctioneers all think they're rock stars and the ring men are mostly obnoxious assholes. The scene gets pretty old pretty quick.
I've been. It's fun IMO. It's basically one big ass car show! If you have a bidders pass you get free drinks as well! You should do it, you only live twice right?
I've been, it's a lot of fun. All of the cars on consignment (for the most part) are parked out under tents outside. There are lots of nifty vendors and several demo areas which are fun. I'll be going back in a year when I can consume a large quantity of adult beverages during my auction experience.
I have been it was a great experience not like any other auction i been been to. ( I have been to many collector car auctions as a buyer and seller.) Lot's to see and do. There are around 3-4 other auction's going on in the area at the same time to check out also. Russo-Steel is a good one right down the street. Last year the weather ended their auction when some of the tents went down damaging cars.
