        if you want better product... Costco has the Stubbs 100% natural Hardwood Lump Charcoal on sale 34lb bags for 15-17 bucks depending on location.

            Last year the Depot had them on sale for the same price...I got me 12 bags that lasted me all summer! Thanks for the info!

                  briquettes are ground charcoal held together with corn starch.

                  lump charcoal are solid all natural pieces of wood

                  oh yeah and no chemical smell out of of lump charcoal

                          I got a bag of that a few weeks ago, good stuff! Can't beat the price! I was reading some grilling forums, Dragons Breath, Wicked Good are also good brands, but can't find them around here. Cowboy brand (sold at HD) was rated as crap. A lot of "trash" or non coal in it, small pieces and sparked a lot.
