Here's the link if you wanna see what shows are going on when you're there. http://www.whitewaterrocks.com/
Whitewater is indeed badass. I had never heard of it before I went to an Avett Brothers show there last year, but it was a very cool venue.

Good to hear a second opinion. He's seen Skrillex (in his words "organ shattering") and Josh Abbott. I'll wait until a band that I really want to see plays there to see it. Hopefully it'll be TOOL.

Yes the gristmill is by far my favorite place to eat! The chicken fried steak is probably the best I've had.

Since it is in the same area I figured there is no reason to start a separate thread. Does anyone have a suggestion for Breakfast/Brunch on a Saturday morning in the northern San Antonio area.

Some of the best catfish I've ever had. It's not too far away.

Yup. Also, they make one of the best bloody marys I've ever had.

Hate to break the bad news, but Steaks-to-Go closed a few months back.

To the OP, if you want to hang out with all the tourists, Gruene is the place to be. There are some good places to eat there (Grist Mill, Gruene River Grill) but there will be a 30-69 minute wait if you go during peak hours.

There are some great places to eat in town that aren't overrun by tourists. My favorite Mexican place is Adobe Cafe, which is off Business 35 and Seguin St (next to the old Steaks-to-Go). Same owner as Adobe Verde in Gruene but much better food. There's also a cool little pizza place off 46 named Oregano's. The owner is great and will bend over backwards to make sure you're satisfied with your food and service. For breakfast tacos, hit up El Napalito off 46. If you want good catfish, go to Clear Springs (as mentioned above). And I agree with those above saying to float the Comal. Just figure out the non-disposable container thing and you're good to go. If you get in at Landa Falls you'll have the longest float.

I've eaten at the one in Midland, and while not the best I've had personally, it was pretty damn good.

The one in New Braunfels is supposed to be the best one, but I've only ever been to that one, so I couldn't say for sure.
