Best of luck to you man... As Dr Dave said, this is a big procedure and I would make sure this is done at a facility that does many of these procedures and not a small hospital where a general surgeon that doesnt specialize in these things is doing it.

Some patients may be eligible for a minimally invasive (laparoscopic) Whipple procedure, which is performed through several small incisions instead of a single large incision. Compared to the classic procedure, the laparoscopic procedure may result in less blood loss, a shorter hospital stay, a quicker recovery, and fewer complications.

You may want to ask your doctor about this....

What symptoms should we all be freaking out over?

Pancreatic cancer usually has no symptoms until it grown to point where treatment is usually difficult, if not futile. But if you do have symptoms, then it would be malaise, fatigue, unexplained weight loss and painless jaundice.

The last was my go to the doctor symptom. Since the tumor grew on my blatter and shut it down my skin and eyes turned yellow. I had been finding myself getting tired easy the last few month but I would just dismiss it as getting old. They said I have had the tumor for 2 to 3 years. The doctor called late yesterday and said looking at the cat scan the tumor and cancer is localized to the Blatter and has not spread any where else.
