The new escalade my dad bought to replace the one he lost in last weeks tornado got hit by tree, had a window blown out, and has some pretty bad hail damage from today's storm.

<- not getting within 10 mile of my dad if there is a chance of severe weather, lol.

I've been hearing that as well unfortunately...he, his son Paul and Carl Young. Wow. Pretty unbeleivable. I'm not sure how accurate it is but I saw the approx location he was killed, right near where the tornado turned north which was just after we got out if it. If a guy like that can get killed......


I believe this to be the first time a storm chaser has been killed as well. (While chasing storms)

They're suspecting they got hit by a satellite tornado.

Not much is known about the satellites, but they say they spin up around larger tornados and suspected winds can be 500+mph.

Also "mile wide tornado" will be on discovery tonight at 9pm dedicated to him. It is from the week previous (moore) and will feature a lot of chaser footage from some great chasers. Some local.

He was one of the most knowledgable and safe chasers out there. If anyone cares to read, this is mine and my chase partner's account of getting into the tornado (we were inside of it for a bit) that ultimately killed Tim Samara's crew.

Also this is our video from the day. At 6:15 you can see a few seconds of video as the tornado was overtaking us, at that point my partner dropped the camera in his lap and at that point we were just trying to make it out alive. At 7:30 you can see the wedge just after we got away from it (when it turned north). This was about the time it was hitting Tim Samaras and his crew.
