I do like having a police presence in my neighborhood, but I don't think its any safer. To me it just deters the complete fucktards from committing blatantly obvious crimes in broad daylight, not all crimes. The only security I feel is the one I provide for my family and myself, I can't count on anyone else to save me or my family in a emergency situation(where police would be needed). Its a tough job and I don't knock any of them trying to do their best to keep criminals off the streets.

Living in the country, no. I might feel differently about this if I lived in an inner city setting, but I feel like they constantly waiting for me to slip up. I've never been written a traffic ticket, but when a cop rolls up behind me I tense up and check all my crap to make sure I'm not speeding, not expired, etc, even if I know I'm not.

FWIW, I honestly believe that Matt is one of the "good cops" and would never worry about him being out of line, especially on the job. I have also known him to go out of his way "off the clock" to help out a number of people. I don't always agree with his internet "persona" but the same can be said for a number of people I consider friends that are on here.

I certainly won't go as far as to call names, but I will agree, to some extent, that he reaps what he sows on the board. But at the same time, I do not believe, at all, that he conducts himself in a similar manner on the job (or in his personal life for that matter), as he does on here.
