Just yesterday coming out of a store I see a Ford Tempo parked over the line next to my truck. Now my truck is 17 years old but I try to take care of it. It has 7 door dings and all of them piss me off so I park it kinda far from the doors as not to get any more damage to it. So there are 15+ spaces between the truck and the stores door yet he still parks on the other side of me. I see two fresh dings on the truck where both his doors hit me ine matching red/rust smudge from his doors. I also notice his safety and reg is a year expired, ragged out interior, rust holes and books written in Spanish sitting on the dash. It is obvious they are broke and have no insurance.
Now this may make me an asshole but I figured a test was in order. I leaned 4 3" long selftapping large head screws behind each tire with the tip firmly placed between the tread od the tire with the head braced against the ground and then waited. 3 young latino men walk up, I can hear them speaking English to each other but when they get to me and I inform them about what they had done I instantly get the "No habla" responses and the "No no no, I no do" response from these idiots when I know for a fact it was them because I watched that car driving down my isle as I was walking away from the truck and I was in the store under 5 minutes.
It was a simple test, had they not tried to BS me and at least apologized for the damage I would have removed the screws from under their tires but they were obviously complete pieces of shit so I left the screws and pulled out and drove to the next isle to make sure my plan worked. Sure enough they pulled out and I could hear "tap tap tap tap" as they drove down their isle. I then promptly went over to make sure all tires were punctured as I had no desire to hurt anyone else. Sure enough one screw didn't puncture so I picked it up.
The screws worked well because just before they got to the exit from Walmart both rear tires were flat and they bottomed out on the speedbump.
While I feel a little bad it is offset by the feeing of satisfaction that while they caused me $500 in damage I at least caused them $200 in damage.
Calling the cops would have been fruitless and just waisted time. Sure they would have gotten some tickets but I am sure they would have never been paid. On the other hand they may have been illegals and it would have been nice to kick them out.
