Equal protection would mean that police are handled the same as they handle citizens. It would mean that they are held to the same measure and same laws as everyone else. That means speeding tickets, no seatbelt, driving while distracted, driving with a cell phone, running red lights, all of that would mean ticketing and charging them. Cops blowing by you on 635 with no lights on? I have yet to see another cop pull them over. Talking on their cell while doing that? Not pulled over

Yes, let's have equal protection under the law

So are we equal under the law or are we not? Does the law and it's punishments apply to every American equally or not? If they do, then punish the cop the exact same way citizens are. If they don't, then punish cops FAR more harshly.

Your choice, which do you prefer?

Good action. Arrested in Dec on DUI, terminated in May is good for me. When higher level executives get terminated even in the private sector it takes time for the company to build a solid case to prevent litigation. I am good with it.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

Wait. I'm confused. What city on 635 has a city ordinance on driving while on a cell phone?

NHTSA’s Put the Phone Away or Pay campaign reminds drivers of the deadly dangers and the legal consequences including fines of texting behind the wheel.

I'm seeing bans on texting AND using a cell while driving. Do cops use computers and phones while driving? Are they ticketed for doing it?

I want to see Jim stoned out of his mind, just once. Somewhere there aren't any firearms or sharp objects in case he goes absolutely mental. I'll even supply the green.

I'm not a cop defender nor hater, but you said you wanted to see them treated the same way. This guy was arrested for DWI by his peers. Also, there are tons of jobs that he could have worked at that he would never get fired for a DWI. There are plenty of employers that have to pay employees while suspended. If police officers should be treated as any citizen, then he or she gets his day in court like any other citizen. With that said, I do believe they are doing the right thing by terminating his employment.

See, that's been said many times. I have no idea why. Share your thought process as I'm genuinely curious. No one has ever explained how they think I'll act differently.

Yes I read it. I also meant to dig up something more customized to this incident but I got sidetracked with trying to figure out an error code on my printer. That is absolutely my fault. I am sorry about that one
