If you can make it do it, set an appointment with a service advisor, tell him what is going on, and ask if you can take him and possibly the trans/drivability tech for a ride to demo the issue. I had one that was a hard to make happen problem when I was turning wrenches, and the owner could make it happen every time, but none of us in the shop could reproduce it.
It's not 100% consistent(prob around 50%), it only seems to do it in reverse when the truck is cold, once warm it's fine.

I liked my truck when I had it. It had a shudder on acceleration but it didnt bother me enough to worry about it. Never had any problems and I think it had 20k miles or so when I traded it. Im very surprised how many people have had issues.

I've drove both trucks, pulling the same load the same distance it there wasn't a noticable difference in the two power wise and with fuel milage.
Now without a load she kills me in the mpg area, especially on the hwy.

Without a load if you hammer down on it then her's does run better than mine

Dude, I'm not the biggest fan of the Ecoboost V6 (as evidenced by my comments on the lack of reliability per the experience of our company trucks), but to say there isn't a noticeable difference in power or gas mileage to the 5.4 is laughable. The Ecoboost tows WAY better than the 5.4. Also, your 27mpg assertion for your GF with her Ecoboost driving to Austin is ridiculous. Unless she was being towed and the engine was at idle the whole way, it's not going to get 27mpg. Period.

Let's try to keep it to facts in this thread.

I'm sorry you're idiot then. I have drove both and seen the gas milage with both and that is a fact. When I drive her truck I do good to get 24mpg but again I don't drive like a grandma like she does. Unless you have done both then maybe you should give it a try and not just go by what you read.
Also her eco boost has never had a single issue or been to the dealer for anything and it as 44k miles on it so far.
My 5.4 has been in about 8 times in the 52k miles I've had it.

I can get 22 mpg all day long on the higway at 65mph. At 60 mph it goes to about 24 mpg.

I've averaged between 22-24 mpg on several trips to Galveston on my fishing trips.

It's just hard to keep it at 65. At 80 mph it drops to 17-18 mpg.

IMO the extra $1000 for the EBV6 isn't worth it unless you tow regularly. It doesn't get much better mileage when towing but gets great mileage when you are not towing as long as you drive it right.

I got the 5.0 as well and I'm extremely happy with it. Plenty of power and I average 17mpg in mostly city driving. I have been able to get it up to 25mpg when driving 65mph. Of course that is harder when driving in Texas where we have those magnificent 75mph highways.

BTW, if you Google hypermile and Ecoboost F150, you'll find an article about hyper milers that were able to get 35MPG out of a SuperCrew EB F150 with four passengers and their gear.

Accoridng to those numbers , you will get 576 miles out of this tank. My shit doesn't even get close to that unless I'm coasting down hill going 70. Now if you run out of gas in 390 miles like the screen states = 15mpg

The thing about the estimated miles to E, is the computer calculates that based on your last MPG rating prior to refeuling and restting the MPG calc. I don't really like or pay any attention to it because of this.

                            Not me

Mine is a 2012 drive it for work ..

It has a fiberglass shell on it , I carry about 250 lbs in the box daily

The coil packs acted up @ about 15,000 miles
                            *cough,spit, sputter**(common issue)

Then again @ about 22,000 (common issue)
same, thing so the dealer said

Drive shaft was worn out at 30,000 ,splines wore out( common issue)

As fall, turned into winter ..when you pulled out to pass on 2-lane road
                            again with the coughing ..etc

stopped talked to a guy that knows a lot about turbo charged cars

said, yep..I know whats wrong.. bring it inside

                            was about 20 degrees out

took inter-cooler out and it was froze solid with water and oil

drained out enough to fill a 32oz gatorade bottle

called dealer.. oh sure, we know all about those problems

what was happening was when the ice melts, it goes thru the intake and of course the motor can't run so..?

took them about a month to get parts in to fix it temp ..had to replace the cats on it too.. runied

If you run into headwind of 15-20 or so @ 65 ..maybe 18 mpg ?
                            often,,17mpg

if you drive 75,,light winds ..16 maybe 17mpg if you are lucky

From talking to people they expect the motors to croak at 75,000 miles

                            this one has 63,0000

can't wait till it dies so i can get something that is better

And, recently ..the trans is acting up

slow speeds, ..you get big driveline snap

not audible, feels like you run over a brick
