Some of the old schoolers here might remember back in the day (2004) I fell off earth, I went through a divorce and obviously as a father It's my obligation to pay child support. My daughter was only 14 months old when we split. Through the years we both remarried and both have children. We always got along, never really any issues at all. Here and there we'd disagree but nothing catastrophic.

Today my daughter is now 10, be 11 in l November. I'm happy to say I officially have custody of her. She has been with me for about 6 weeks now. It's the greatest feeling in the world to know she's home, here with me. This is where she belongs.

I made my final court appearance this morning. It's done.

That's fucking awesome man! I remember when I was about 12'ish my dad talked to me about living with him, and I just didn't get it and nothing came from it. In all honesty, I think a lot about how different my life would've been had I done it then. I ended up moving in with him when I was 16 by my own decision.. A kid should not be without a good loving father. Congrats to you again. If you were seeking custody, there was a reason and I'm so glad that you were eventually granted it. Also, congratulations to your daughter!

Congrats man. Im in the process of sitting my son down and letting him know he has options now. He's starting to realize that his mom hasn't really been attentive and shown him how to be self dependant. He's said on numerous occasions how he likes it better being with me because we do more things than he does over there with her.

Congrats. I pray that I never have to go through this with my girl. I have had my one divorce this lifetime and we were lucky not have had kids. Wife #2 is a much better person but you never know what a chick is thinking. I couldn't fathom battling her on the other side of a table from me with my daughter at stake.

Congrats man! That is an awesome feeling. I took my son by force when he was 10 months old. It wasn't finalized until he was 4. He's 11 now, and things could not be better. He's a pretty awesome little dude. There is no better feeling in the world than knowing that I did that.

Her Mom is a good mom, She provided well for her. Something about Dads and little girls. I've never wanted anything in this world but a son to call my own (have a step son), but a bond between a father and a daughter is a force Ive yet to figure out. The day she moved in with me it felt like I had something I'd been missing with her all these years. I'd see her Tuesday and Wednesday every week, she lived a little over an hour away. I always made time to see her no matter what. Every other weekend plus the 5th, it's no walk in the park. I can't tell you how many trips I made to see her that I drove over two hours just to eat a 45 minute meal with her before she had to be home.

To all the other Dads, I am proof that there is hope. Thanks
