I've averaged between 22-24 mpg on several trips to Galveston on my fishing trips.

It's just hard to keep it at 65. At 80 mph it drops to 17-18 mpg.

Speed limit on 45 is 75 for most of it, why dont you speed up a bit slowpoke?

I only have about 6k on mine and quit driving it daily as I got another vehicle that gets better gas mileage. Maybe it will get a bit better with some more break in but I am not holding my breath.

My truck runs fine and is fun to drive. I haven't had any issues other than what seems to be a glazed driver rear brake pad / rotor, which one dealer blew me off regarding it.

Maybe someone can do some tuning magic on them, or even better maybe there is already an updated program that can be uploaded via Ford. Anyone know of any?
which truck do you have, there's a pretty big mpg different between the my fx4 which has alot lower gearing than the platinum, between the 2 , as much as 4-5 mpg on the highway, with that said, my fx4 with a loaded 2k pound sprayer in the back is still getting 15 -15.8 in town sitting idle between stops.

and he is doing at least 70 in the pic. lol

Damnit I wish I could take a pic like that with my Ecoboost. In the trucks defense, I should take a trip and keep it 70 or under and see what the outcome is.

It is a 2wd and I believe it has the 3.42 gears. The FX2 with the small V8, I traded in got better mileage than this one. Of course I drove it the same way so..

i have an fx2 5.0 also and if you drive it like most of us do it still does fine, now if you play foot down on the ecoboost , mileage definately goes to hell pretty quick compared to the 5.0

Last trip to houston I had the cruise set at 80 for most of it, and was getting 13.8, pulling an 18ft trailer with the racecar on it.

That is a normal cruising speed for the most part when on highway. I don't floor the thing or anything but I am one that likes to get to the speed limit before reaching the next light.

That was taken on 287 where the speed limit is 65.

you should write your cruise control a ticket for speeding.

                        Why is that DJ?

The cruise was set at 65, but when you stick an iPhone that close to the dash, the angle makes the needle look like it's closer to 70.

So, don't go jumpin' my ass just yet!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!11111111!!!1

Im going to use that next time I'm stopped.

Well, you see what had happened was, I was leanded over on the console, so when the speedo says 80 if you is lookin straight at it, from my angles, it looks more like 70...

Gearing makes a huge difference. I had two mark vii's one bill blass and the other an lsc. The blass got 24mpg, and the lsc got 18.
Also the way you drive helps, I can get 28mpg out of my 2010 GT or 16!

I will say though my old 89 civic got 36mpg no matter how I drove!
