I did not know that, does it go flat or something? Mine was a 5spd.

Never had a cam problem in a 2003 or older TDI. The 2004 and newer have wear problems. At 175k you can start looking at the lifters. Mine have 215k and 280k on my '01 and '03 and are on the original cam and lifters.
