Welp, back from the race and It was awesome. I think the WC race was the best part, lots of action. The v8 race was good but i was expecting more passing. That Mercedes car sounded sooooooo sweeeeet.
It was nice meeting EW and MattB too. I had fun playing the iRacing Simulator at the Caddy booth. Did a 54.8 at Lime Rock. Fastest was 49.9, and i'm certain i coulda nailed low 50's. It was also hilarious watching trying it.
And i'm dead tired from the endless miles of walking and 95 degree heat. Can't beat them, Join their NEW message board !!

Thanks to Bputacoma for the tickets. Great facility but that thing is really spread out. High winds and partly cloudy skies helped with the heat. If you want to see the whole track, be prepared to walk your ass off! Elevation changes are huge. I think I'll get a seat and a parking pass next time. I was surprised that there was VERY little team merchandise. Lots of track/event hats, shirts, etc but only a few team products. 130 toll road goes right to it. Easy traffic flow in and out. 27 laps is a pretty short race so not much chance to work through the field. Wrecks take about 15min to clear and the race is either 27 laps or time, whichever comes first. Seems like they should be a little longer.
I had a great time and would do it again for sure.
It did not look like there were very many seats for the Austin 360 amphitheatre.

Those who went, hop you are having a blast. I only get to watch it in 70* airconditioning on a 58" plasma widescrean with a fridge full of beer and snacks while I kick back on my recliner and smoke something other than a cigarette while I can pause and rewind something that looked cool.
On a serious not, I realize there is no substitute for being there but being your own boss makes you a slave driver.

MattB, I made it down to the Pratt/Miller paddock twice, but both times the Mustang paddock next door was empty.

Also noticed daddy had the street car for sale this weekend too. Maybe they are running out of money playing with the big boys? They better not burn their bridges with the little folk if he can't hack it in the big leagues.
Let me guess, you forgot to service the cool suit for him and had to fill it at the last minute....or was it gas?
