Just leave it on I20. It will eventually go away.
I think his point is that the fish got low balled, fucked in the catfish asshole and you paid half price. The worst part was the fish explaining to his fish friends why his asshole smelled like redneck

Put it on Craigslist for $1500 obo and say it'll start but knocks. Being an 01 it can be legally exported to Mexico. You'll get some offers on it, more than $500 I bet and they'll pay cash.

J-bodies are dirt cheap, they do a whole lot better than a comparable Neon but if it has a quad 4 (2.4L) then everyone is going to be scared of it, other than the Mexican exporters that'll fix it.

Most I give for a car with major motor or trans problem is $300 unless it's something really nice, or worth good money fixed. By the time you figure the cost of a motor/trans and labor (I feel labor has to be considered even if you do it yourself) and any little parts needed (oil, filter, tuneup stuff, timing belt if applicable, etc) you can easily be in the same money area of what a running driving car can be bought for. If she wants 5 bills then price it a little higher and hope for the best.

The Mexican thing is a good way to get the money see wants. I'm constantly seeing caravans of vehicles headed south with tanned drivers.

            Does it still drive?

If yes, I'd say it's time to paint it orange. Paint an "01" on the side. Get out the camera and try to become a Youtube sensation. **insert dixie horn here**

List it for a grand on craigslist and see what offers you get. Take anything over $500.

Another vote to donate to charity for a tax write-off. It's for a good cause and she'll get the value of the car deducted from her gross wages for the year, IIRC.
